Frequently Asked Questions

Is a physician's referral required?
A physician's referral is appreciated, but not required to schedule an appointment. Some insurance providers require a medical referral for reimbursement. Please ask your extended health care provider for details on your policy coverage.
Are physiotherapy services funded by OHIP?

Yes, our YMCA Central Clinic located at 382 Waterloo Street in the city of London, Ontario provides OHIP funded physiotherapy services for patients who meet the criteria for an 'episode of care', are 19 years of age or younger, 65 years of age or older and/or a recipient of Ontario Works or the Ontario Disability Support Program. To be eligable for OHIP funded physiotherapy, patients must have a valid Ontario health card and a referral from their physician or nurse practitioner.

All other Body Mechanics Clinics are private with no OHIP funding. All or a portion of the fees may be covered by your Extended Health Care (EHC) benefits carrier for physiotherapy, chiropractic and massage therapy services. We recommend contacting your extended health care provider to see what your particular coverage may include.

Can you bill my EHC provider directly?
We can directly bill Green Shield, Great West Life, Blue Cross (Department of Veteran's Affairs), Industrail Alliance, and SunLife Financial on your behalf. In some instances we can directly bill Manulife (City of London employees) as they offer "direct pay" options. All other providers require payment up front following a service, and you will submit the health care claim with receipt to your provider for reimbursement.
What methods of payment do you accept?
Payments can be made with Cash, Cheque, Debit, Visa, or MasterCard
Are your Practitioners registered?
Yes. All of our health care practitioners are registered with licensed numbers.
