Jim Wernham Jim Wernham, PT, BSc(Kin), MScPT Registered Physiotherapist

Born in London, Jim completed an Honors BSc in Kinesiology at Western where he finished the sport injuries program. He worked as a therapist for several teams in the region including the London Thunderbirds Football Club and London United Soccer Club. He has covered many sporting events most notably the Commonwealth Wrestling Championships, and the Juvenile National wrestling Championship.

He completed his Master's degree in Physical Therapy at the University of Alberta where he concurrently worked as a therapist with Grant McEwan Basketball earning a provincial championship and finishing 2nd in the country. He began working at Body Mechanics in 2007 when he and his wife returned to the London area to start a family. Jim opened the Ilderton location in October 2009.

He has completed courses in the Mulligan Concept, McKenzie's MDT concept and the CPA's Manual Therapy Levels and has a keen interest in concussion management.

Mike Wonderham Michael Wonderham, MPT

Discipline: Registered Physiotherapist

Michael graduated from the University of Western Ontario with a Honours Bachelor of Health Sciences with Biology in 2005, and a Master of Physical Therapy in 2007. Michael has continued his studies taking courses in acupuncture and orthopaedic/sports therapy. Michael received his Master of Clinical Science in Manipulative Therapy in 2010 and is a Fellow of the Canadian Association of Manipulative Physiotherapists. In his off time Michael likes to play golf, work out, and watch his beloved Green Bay Packers.

Jonathon McIntosh Jonathon McIntosh, MPT, BSc.(Hons.)Kin

Discipline: Registered Physiotherapist

Graduated: Jon graduated in 2011 with honours from Brock University with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology degree which was followed by a Masters of Physical Therapy degree at Western University in 2013.

Practice: Since graduating, Jon has continued to obtain advanced training through the Canadian Physiotherapy Association's Manual Therapy Levels system, anatomical acupuncture, soft tissue release, the Mulligan concept and advanced concussion management. Jon treats a wide variety of orthopaedic conditions but has a particular clinical interest in concussion management, vestibular rehabilitation and sport injury rehabilitation. He treats patients at both the Westmount and Byron Body Mechanics locations. Jon understands and values the important of evidence-based care in order to provide the highest quality rehabilitation to his clients.

Biography: Jon was born and raised in the rural town of Harriston, Ontario, but now calls Byron home. In his spare time Jon enjoys playing baseball and golf and spending time with his fiancé and their two dogs.

Crystal Thurston Crystal Thurston, BHSc., BEd., MPT

Discipline: Registered Physiotherapist

Graduated: Crystal graduated from the University of Western Ontario School of Physical Therapy in 2009.

Practice: Crystal is a physiotherapist with an interest in neurological and geriatric rehabilitation. She graduated in 2009 with a Master's degree in Physiotherapy, MPT, from the University of Western Ontario. Prior to this she obtained her Bachelor of Health Sciences, as well as a Bachelor Education degree, both from U.W.O. Crystal has over 5 years experience working with individuals who live with neurological dysfunction (stroke, acquired brain injury, cerebral palsy, developmental delay, Parkinsons disease, Multiple Sclerosis, etc.), as well as people who have orthopedic injuries/musculoskeletal impairments, both in a long term care setting and orthopaedic clinic.

She is also currently employed at two London-area Long Term Care homes, as well as Elmwood Place Convalescent care, which is a government funded 14 bed facility that allows short term stays for individuals recovering from a variety of impairments (post fracture, surgery, amputation, multiple falls, CVA, deconditioning, etc.) who are not yet safe to return home. Crystal has obtained post-graduate certifications in Manual Therapy, Acupuncture, and Wound Care (with the use of physical therapy modalities).

Biography: Crystal was raised in London Ontario, is married with two young, energetic boys. Her spare time is devoted to spending time with her family.

Eva Lok Eva Lok

Discipline: Chiropodist

Graduated: 1984 with license to practice by the College of Chiropodists of Ontario

Biography: Co-ordinated the start up of the first hospital chiropody clinic in Southwestern Ontario at Victoria Hospital in 1984 and managed it until 1996 when I started in private practice.

Practice:

  • conservative, non invasive range of treatment focusing on prevention of future problems and the prevention of deterioration of existing problems
  • examples of work include management of problem nails and callouses, reduction of corns and bunions, wound and infection care, management of foot pain resulting from low/high arches, bunions, hammer toes, prescribing and dispensing custom foot orthotics, and provision of educatioin focusing on prevention
  • specialty in dealing with diabetics

Affiliations: Independent practitioner affiliated with Body Mechanics and the Primary Care Diabetes Support Program (St. Joseph's Family Medical Centre)

Memberships: Ontario Society of Chiropodists; Diabetes Educator Section of the Canadian Diabetes Association

Bookings: By appointment only-made through phone or email. NOTE that physician referrals are not required as Body Mechanics is a private clinic.

Costs: Visits and foot orthotics are not covered by OHIP but most private insurance or extended health plans will cover a portion of the visit. It is always best to check with your policy first.

Judy Flegel

Judy Flegel, B.Sc.(Kin), CPed(C)

Discipline: Certified Pedorthist

Practice: Judy has over 20 years of experience in rehabilitation and Pedorthics.

Biography: A graduate of the University of Waterloo kinesiology program, Judy began her career at a physiotherapy clinic where she worked for 11 years providing rehabilitative exercise programming for all types of musculoskeletal injuries. As a running enthusiast, she developed a special interest in the biomechanics of gait - walking as well as running. Naturally she decided her career progression should be in the field of Pedorthics.

As a Canadian Certified Pedorthist, Judy has been both an instructor and practicum supervisor for the "Diploma in Pedorthics" program at Western University. She is a member of the Pedorthic Association of Canada (PAC) and the College of Pedorthics of Canada (CPC).

Jason Laws Jason Laws, RMT

Discipline: Registered Massage Therapist

Graduated: 2008

Practice: Jason has several years of experience treating a large spectrum of musculoskeletal conditions. He is currently finishing his education as an osteopath at the Canadian College of Osteopathy in Toronto. Depending on the condition, some osteopathic techniques are integrated to gain the benefits of both health professions.

Born and raised in London, ON. He has two children and values family life. Also enjoys exercising regularly and some recreational sports or activities with friends and family.
